Used as the coolant medium in our block icemakers. Propylene Glycol is poured into the cabinet of the icemaker, along with water, at a rate of 2 parts glycol to 3 parts water. This mixture is for the initial start up of the icemaker. When the glycol/water solution becomes low or diluted, additional glycol needs to be added.

Before adding additional glycol, the existing glycol/water solution should be tested to determine the amount of glycol needed. Customers can test their solution by using our Glycol Tester, Item GLYCOLTDC70, or by sending in a small sample of their solution.
